Vicki McWilliamsMy journey with birth work has no real beginning. I have always been fascinated by the process of
creating life and curious about how it all works. This led me to many years of reading and researching. When the first of my friends became pregnant, I found myself with more knowledge than I had realized I had, and I was full of excitement to assist in her process. Having worked as a yoga instructor for many years, I developed a passion for connecting deeply to our bodies, holding space for myself and others, and guiding people to find empowerment within themselves. The decision to become trained as a doula felt like a natural step forward. Now I am beyond grateful to be doing this work and sharing in such an incredibly sacred time of life. I want every person giving birth to know that you have choices, you have support in those choices, and you deserve respect through your birth journey. Originally from Phoenix Arizona, I moved to Pennsylvania where I received my BFA from Point Park University. From there I spent some time dancing professionally in Chicago. Landing back in PA, I worked in social work, as well as teaching yoga and nannying. Currently, I live in Zelienople PA with my partner and our two cats. |
