Rachel YonanThinking back on my own birth experience, I knew that there wasn’t much I could control but I could choose the type of care I received and who would be there when I welcomed my daughter into the world.
I wanted personal, supportive and women-centered care and this desire lead me to include a doula as part of my birth team. Her support during pregnancy, labor and postpartum helped me adjust to the demands of new motherhood and solidified my passion for birth work. After my own birth experience, I knew that I wanted to offer this kind of care and support to other women/birthing people. My role, as your doula, is to support your vision for your ideal birth — whether that’s in a hospital, birth center or at home. I am committed to showing up for you with love, physical & emotional support and evidence-based information. I live in Forest Hills with my daughter, Dorothy. In my free time I love to run all over Pittsburgh, cook, sew and spend time with my family! |
