katie hyre, lcce, cpstMy real interest in birth began shortly after my first child was born in 2007. I had a healthy, beautiful baby, but felt as though decisions had been made for me, instead of by me. I wished that there had been someone knowledgeable present to give me encouragement, suggestions and reassurance. Even before becoming pregnant with my second child, I researched my options and knew which ones felt right for me, which led me to have a very empowering and satisfying birth in 2010.
Along the way, I discovered that I could take what I had learned and combine it with effective comfort measures to help other women achieve a positive birth experience. I started my doula training in 2012 and quickly jumped in with both feet. Providing support and attending births is an absolute honor, every single time. I want you to know that you are strong, smart and capable of being an active participant in your own birth. Originally from Beaver County, my family and I now reside in the Crafton area. |
