kat kitchen cd(dona)My name is Kat Kitchen, and I am mother to a wonderful three-year old daughter, Claudia. My birth experience was not ideal; I had an unplanned cesarean section, and I felt that a lot of the decisions about my daughter's birth were made for me, not by me. It wasn't until after a conversation with a close friend (who is also a doula) that I realized how deeply my birth experience had affected me. I felt that I wasn't in control of my experience, and it bothered me. I knew that there was no way that I could change what had happened to me, but I had the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of other women.
I enrolled in the next available training session with the amazing Kathy McGrath. That's when I realized this is what I wanted to do with my life. My goal is to help you to have the birth experience that you want and enable you to look back proudly on the birth of your child as a positive, empowering experience. I live in Hazelwood with my daughter Claudia, husband Zak, and our two chubby and happy cats, Gryffin and Xandar.
