Before I had my son in 2018, I had a limited familiarity with childbirth. I thought of childbirth as a biological process like any other, with the ideal end result being a healthy baby- how one gets there didn’t seem that important to me. After having a very difficult pregnancy and birth, my view changed drastically. While the health of mother and baby are, of course, paramount, I learned from experience that childbirth is a unique life event in which the “how” matters a great deal. It was my difficult birth experience that led me to train as a doula. I wanted to walk with women as they participate in this singular experience!
As a doula, I want to help you feel as empowered and supported as possible during the wild, unpredictable, and beautiful experience that is childbirth, however you envision your ideal experience to be. It is my job to be there for you with an open mind and an open heart to help facilitate your vision as much as I can. It is an honor to be a part of such an important event in your life- I promise to be there with all of the love, support, and good vibes I have in me! I live in Greenfield with my husband and our two babies, as well as our two kitties. For fun, I love to listen to pop music, dance, read, and watch Jeopardy- sometimes all at the same time, if I’m having a particularly busy day! I have a degree in biochemistry, and I’m hoping to eventually merge my science background with my more humanist interests and attend medical school. I am currently thrilled to be working towards DONA certification. I had my daughter in March 2021 and I got to see firsthand what a difference a doula can make. I hope I can make that difference for you. |
