Colleen UlkeI would describe the days that my three children were born as three of the happiest days of my life. I did not have a doula, but I labored and delivered with midwives, five sisters, my husband, mom, mother-in law, and later on, my children present. Yes...I was excited about childbirth and wanted to share the experience with my entire family. I realize that having a “full house” is not for everyone. But, the feeling of being loved, supported, empowered, and heard is. That is what I offer you.
I would be honored and excited to have the role of doula at your birth. As your doula, my focus is you: your vision, your comfort, your calmness, and your strength. The day that your baby is born is a day that you will never forget. I want to help you to make that day one that you cherish forever. I will listen, support, and help you to love your baby into the world. I think one of the most incredible things about childbirth is that it gives a woman the opportunity to find her voice, her inner strength, and eternal value, possibly for the first time in her life. It changes you forever. Congratulations on your pregnancy! I look forward to getting to know you and your loved ones. I graduated from Grove City College (a long time ago) with a degree in Sociology and Ministry. I have taught yoga for 14 years. And, as a hobby, I enjoy singing with my husband of 22 years and/or my sisters. I have two beautiful daughters, ages 20 and 17, and a wonderful son, age 13. |
