My name is Caitlin Kish and I am a mother of a precious baby girl, born in February of 2016, and a loving wife of two years. I am a certified Pure Barre instructor, teach competitive dance, and perform as characters and princesses for events in Pittsburgh. I have a B.A. in Psychology and Criminology from Chatham University where I also became a certified Pittsburgh Action Against Rape crisis intervention advocate. Upon graduating, I took a job at the Alle-Kiski Area Hope Center as a legal advocate for victims and survivors of domestic violence. I have also interned with Pittsburgh Action Against Rape and the District Attorney's Office of Allegheny County. During my free time I enjoy going on adventures with my little one and my husband, reading, working out, going antique picking with my dad, going to auctions, and crafting. I live in New Kensington, PA.
When I became pregnant I started researching my options of caregivers and decided upon the Midwife Center. This is where my love of learning about childbirth came in. I soon realized birth work was something I really wanted to do! I had an amazing doula who I can also say helped me to realize this is something I was passionate about and that I wanted to do what she helped me do: help women realize they are strong and powerful and that their bodies are designed for birth!
Birth changes you forever. And you should be able to look back on your birth as being a positive experience! My goal is to help women feel supported, educated and capable from the moment we interact, during labor, and during the postpartum period.
